Our Story

We Love Pasta!

A few years ago a strong friendship was born, thanks to a plate of linguine served by the world-class Italian chef Roberto Crescini to renowned Houston restaurateur Francisco “Paco” Calza.

Their shared passion for high-quality European ingredients ultimately led the two to dream of collaborating, until the time came for them to come together to create Davanti, Italian for "front or forward" referring to the next chapter for Crescini and Calza to serve. in the city of Houston.

With over 45 years of experience, Chef Roberto Crescini, originally from Gavardo in Lombardy, started cooking at the age of 14 and trained at the Caterina Medici Institute of Culinary Professionals in Gardone Riviera on Lake Garda. He is recognized by the American Chef Association as a Certified Italian Master Chef and is also a certified salumi maker and taster. He first came to Houston in 2015 and since then has captivated Houstonians with the tradition and freshness of his cuisine.

Davanti Ristorante with a counter-service concept will serve traditional Italian lunch and dinner along with takeout. Breakfast Coming Soon. Gluten-free options in desserts and of course an exclusive selection of Italian wines and beers to accompany our hand-crafted dishes.
